Reading & Writing Lesson 22: The symbol ّ
In this lesson, we go over the symbol called a tashdeed. The tashdeed symbol is used when the sound of a letter repeats itself in the letter. So, for instance the word for first sounds like - av-val. If this word was written phonetically, it would look like this: اَووَل. However, we place a tashdeed above the 'v' sound that gets repeated, and it looks like this: اَوّل. So, anytime you see that symbol, you know you have to linger on that sound. We explain this with more examples and more details in the lesson.
