Reading & Writing Lesson 2: The vowel آ ا & ب ت پ د

In this lesson, we focus on one vowel- آ ا، pronounced ā in English (like the 'A' in Amish). This vowel appear with a 'hat', آ , when it appears at the beginning of a word, and appears alone, ا , when it's in the middle or end of a word. We'll explore how it interacts four popular consonants in the Persian language- پ، ت، ب and د, both in written form, and while reading. This will give you a good understanding of how the form of letters change when they're in different positions of a word, and also give you an understanding of the simple phonetic nature of Persian writing.
